Prof. Markus Knupp, M. D. has been working for more than 15 years in the field of foot and ankle surgery. During this time he has performed several thousand operations in both acute injuries and chronic problems/sequelae of trauma. He has a large experience in treating fractures, tendon diseases (especially Achillestendon-, tibialis posterior tendon and peronealtendon pathologies), forefoot corrections (i. e. bunion corrections, claw toes etc.) and the entire field of osteoarthrosis/-arthritis.

Particularly in the treatment of osteoarthritis he has an excellent reputation, not only for total ankle replacements, fusions but also in joint preserving surgical treatment options. Next to his work in the public sector he is partner in the SportsClinic#1, Bern, which became an official “Swiss Olympic Medial Partner” in October 2016. This gave access to a unique network to treat both elite and amateur athlete in a professional setting after injuries.

His engagement in a multitude of orthopaedic associations, in research and as a lecturer at the University of Basel guarantee the most modern treatment options available to the highest standards. As an established expert in his field, Prof. Markus Knupp, M. D. has been invited to lecturer in several international meetings in Europe, North- and South America, Asia and Australia.
